Tom is a second generation real estate agent whose experience goes back to answering the phones for his father’s real estate firm on Cape Cod while still in high school. In college Tom worked for a real estate developer in Portland who was restoring the corner of Cumberland and High Streets. “I started out banging nails like everyone else but after earning the nickname “woodbutcher” it was decided that I would be better off working in the office as the purchasing agent and property manager.”
Upon graduation from the University of Southern Maine Tom spent the next 15 years in public service at a non-profit legal services organization in Augusta and left after being the Deputy Director for 2 years. “I spent so much time commuting and travelling the state that I didn’t get to enjoy living in a small town the way I had intended”.
Active in community affairs at the local and state level he has served on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Damariscotta Charter Commission, the Maine Advisory Panel for the Education of Children with Disabilities and was appointed by Governor Baldacci to the Department of Health and Human Services Reorganization Committee.
An avid boater on Damariscotta Lake and the Damariscotta River he currently lives in the village of Damariscotta Mills with his wife and two children and can be seen being pulled through the neighborhood by his two dogs.
